Monogram order for men and women’s initials

A monogram is made by combining two or more letters together to form a symbol or logo. Monograms are generally made using a persons initials or the first letters of words in a company name.

When creating a monogram from your initials, the letters are placed in a particular order, and this differs for men and women. The middle initial is generally written larger or has some kind of fancy embellishment.

For men, the initials are simply placed in the same order as your name. For example, a monogram for Anthony Edward Stark is AES.

For women, the surname is placed in the middle and the middle initial is placed on the right hand side. So the monogram for Carol Susan Danvers is CDS.

Monogram order for engaged and married couples
